AIRFIX was the first manufacturer to produce plastic 1/76 scale figures, starting with these in the very early sixties. Some of the currently reissued sets are still exactly the same as those first issued 40 years ago, a testimony to their popularity. Most sets however were engineered in the late seventies or early eighties and are still very good when compared with contempory manufacturers, especially when taking into account their price. Airfix indicate their figures as being 1/72 scale but actually these are 1/76.
